Thailand's dazzling largest island,beach Bliss, Sino portuguese heritages and underwerter wonder

Phuket is the biggest island located in the southern part of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. The name Phuket is derived from Malay word “Bukit” meaning hill, The previous name was Junk Ceylon by the Portuguese explorers during the 16th century. In early history, Phuket was a trading route between India and China. Ships would anchor in the safe harbor of Phuket and wait for the northeast monsoon winds which would allow them to proceed the journey to India. During the 17th to 19th Phuket became the major source supply of tin and trading port for the Europeans,Arabs, and Portugueses. At the beginning of the 20th century, the tin industry went down, the large area of the island was cleared for rubber plantations and becoming a famous tourist destination until now. Furthermore due to majority of the population is Thai Buddhist and there is a significant number of Muslim around 20 percent from Malay descent and People of Chineses ancestry who migrated to Phuket during the 19th century known as "Phuket Babas", It makes Phuket unique in terms of diversity of culture and history. With beautiful pearly white-sand beaches, Phuket has many beaches to explore from peaceful to lively beaches with various activities.
